NZC is our first token. It is completely collateralized by New Zealand Emission units (NZUs), the mandatory carbon credit of New Zealand. Emitters within New Zealand's Emissions Trading Scheme must purchase and surrender NZUs equal their emission footprint.

Carbonlinked only charges a fee when someone deposits emission units, or redeems tokens. This fee is set as the maximum of 1% of the total exchange value, rounded up to the nearest whole NZU.
